Digital Future in Focus

What I learned from this article is the percentage of certain age and generations of current use of technology; desktops, televisions, mobile devices, apps, etc. We live in a society where we're mostly find our entertainment through technology and sometimes depend on it, especially the younger generations.

To be honest, Nothing surprised me about the result of the numbers at all. As each generation goes by, we are being more and more dependent on technology and it doesn't look like we're going to stop anytime soon since we're still developing even better technologies. I hate to admit but I'm one of those people, I'm really dependent on technology (especially with the internet), when it comes to either information, entertainment, communication, etc.

When looking at the chart on page 39, Demographics Composition % of Major Social Networks, does this accurately represent the people you know in these age categories? Yes and no, multiple reasons. If this chart is representing as in now, there is some apps that are completely different with the percentage now, for an example; Facebook, all of my friends that are the same age range use it. There is more younger audience now because of the "memes" (internet inside jokes), streamers are being more common, groups being created, and many more.
Vine is gone.
Snapchat is still about the right percentage.
I have no idea who uses Pininterest.
And the rest, looks about right.

Linkedln

I've been asked "What is Linkedln and what its purpose?", you hear it almost in every professional setting; whether it's in college, work, office, etc. Well Linkedln is one of the most popular social media platform that is geared towards professionals, it is like Facebook but for your career.
Linkedln is an American business and employment-oriented service that operates in websites and mobile apps. It is founded on December 28, 2002, and launched on May 5, 2003 by Konstantin Guericke, Jean-Luc Vaillant, Eric Ly, Reid Hoffman, and Allen Blue.

Now, why should you even consider using Linkedln? Well it's for people who are interested in taking their career more seriously by looking for new opportunities and to connect with other professionals.
Making connections in Linkedln is like sending a friend request on Facebook, and you can converse through private message and share your and the person you have connection with, each other's professional experience and achievements.

Although, majority of the people use Linkedln for getting back in touch with old colleagues. You can use the My Network section to find old colleagues, classmates, teachers, etc.
And it's also mainly used for using their profile as their resume. Using Linkedln profile basically represent a more complete resume.

I personally do not use it regularly but I've used it in the past to use it as a resume.
