I was scrolling through a blog called "Laughing All the Way to Work: A Survival Blog for Today's Administrative Assistant" by Patricia Robb and while scrolling through that blog, I found a post called "Ctrl keys are a real timesaver". What Patricia Robb explains in that blog post is her co-worker is having frustration trying to use the paste function and Patricia explained to her that she could simply just Ctrl + v.
She's been using the Ctrl functions for years and explained some of the Ctrl functions does, she also said it will take some time to get used to the Ctrl function but it can shave seconds during your work time or just in general whenever you're using the computer.
I'm 100% on board of everything she says, I always use the Ctrl function every time I have to use the computer; whether it's posting a link to friends, copying a link, using Microsoft Word or using a drawing program.
My favorite Ctrl function is the Ctrl + z (the undo function), it's a Gods' send that this exists, while drawing on a drawing software; you'll make a ton of mistakes, and when I meant ton of mistakes, I mean a TON of mistakes. So imagine this, you're using a brush tool, pen tool, etc. and made the stroke you've made, but it doesn't look right, you have to use the erase tool to fix that, then you go to use the pen tool again, oops, it doesn't look right again, and so on so forth. So you can imagine the amount of time going back and forth with the pen tool and erase tool and that will definitely stack up the time each time that happens, but if you simple just use the Ctrl + z function; it instantly undo that action you've made.
I also use the Ctrl + z function while using Microsoft Word, whether it's moving a picture, made a misclicked, or made any mistake. There's actually a undo and redo function on the left of the software, Ctrl + y for the redo and Ctrl + z for the undo as you already know. You can use that but you can save 1-2 seconds if you just use the Ctrl function. Wouldn't it be great if all of us have a undo function in real life?
So if you want to save time and have less frustrations, just memorize Ctrl functions, and you're on your way being time saving monster.
